PCX files from old desktop publishing or DOS-era software cannot be opened in most modern applications. Converting PCX to PDF gives you a page-faithful document that opens on any device, in any browser, and prints exactly as displayed — no legacy viewer required. Drop your .pcx file above.
PCX is the ZSoft PC Paintbrush image format, introduced in the early 1980s for IBM PC paint software. It uses run-length encoding (RLE) compression and supports up to 24-bit color. PCX was the standard image format for DOS games, early scanners, and desktop publishing software throughout the 1980s and early 1990s. Today, almost no modern application opens .pcx files without a dedicated plugin.
PDF (Portable Document Format) is Adobe's universal page-faithful document format, now standardized as ISO 32000. Every browser, operating system, and mobile device renders PDF natively. PDF preserves the exact layout, dimensions, and image content of the source — what you see on screen is what prints. It is the standard format for sharing documents that must look identical on every device.
