| Description | Microsoft Outlook Express-based DBX files harbor folders with letters. In turn, the letters are packed in mailboxes. Since files are assigned to specific folders, they are named and suffixed respectively, so files assigned to Inbox are named inbox.dbx; similarly, files assigned to the Draft mailbox are suffixed drafts.dbx. Because DBXs can be copied, you can back up all your letters. Microsoft Outlook Express is the simplest and therefore most preferred program in terms of editing or importing a DBX. Manual modification may lead to corruption and mess up the work of the client. |

DBX is the discontinued Outlook Express mailbox format. PDF is the universal page-faithful document format every device, browser, and printer reads. Converting DBX to PDF turns a legacy mailbox into a permanent, printable, searchable archive that needs no mail client to view. Drop your .dbx file above.
DBX is the per-folder mailbox container Outlook Express used between 1997 and 2006. Each .dbx holds one folder — Inbox, Sent Items, Drafts — and Outlook Express stored them in the user's Identity profile. Microsoft retired the product with Windows Vista in 2006. Modern Microsoft software does not read DBX; the format is read-only legacy storage.
PDF (Portable Document Format, ISO 32000) is Adobe's universal document format. PDF preserves fonts, layout, images, and pagination exactly as authored. Every operating system, every browser, every smartphone, and every printer driver renders PDF natively. PDF supports text search, redaction, digital signatures, and 256-bit AES encryption — everything an archive or evidence workflow needs.
