DOCX File

File extension .DOCX
CategoryDocument File
DescriptionDOCX is an MS Office text format of new generation (starting from 2007 versions). It is a more open, more standardized version that allows various apps get easier access to data stored in Word files. DOCX files are lighter in size than DOC analogues due to a new, XML-based file structure. As opposite to DOC, a corrupted DOCX file still can be opened, and undamaged data still can be read and edited. Older Word versions can work with DOCX, if a free compatibility pack is installed and setup.

JPG File

File extension .JPG, .JPEG, .JPE, .JFIF, .JFI
CategoryImage File
DescriptionJPG is the file format for images made by digital cameras and spread throughout the world wide web. Saving in JPG format an image loses its quality, because of the size compression. But at the end you have a much smaller file easy to archive, send, and publish in the web. These are the cases when an image's size matters more than image's quality. Nonetheless, by using professional software you can select the compression degree and so affect the image's quality.

DOCX to JPG Converter — FAQ ▼

DOCX is Microsoft Word's default document format since Office 2007. It is an Office Open XML (OOXML) file — a ZIP archive containing XML files that encode text content, formatting, styles, images, headers, footers, and embedded objects. DOCX is the most widely used word processing format in business and academia, supported natively by Microsoft Word, LibreOffice, Google Docs, and Apple Pages.
Converting a Word document to JPG produces a raster image snapshot of each page. Common use cases include: creating preview thumbnails for document management systems, embedding document pages as images in presentations, sharing a document page on social media or messaging apps where DOC attachments are blocked, displaying a contract or certificate as a non-editable image, generating page images for PDF-alternative rendering in web apps, and archiving documents in an image format for visual indexing.
Each page of the DOCX becomes a separate JPG file. A 5-page Word document produces 5 JPG images. The converter processes the document's print layout — what you see in Word's Print Preview — and renders each page at the specified resolution (typically 150–300 DPI for screen-quality output).
For web previews and thumbnails: 96–150 DPI at 75–80% JPG quality produces a sharp image at a small file size. For printing or archiving: 300 DPI at 90–95% quality preserves text legibility and fine detail. For presentations: 150 DPI at 85% is a good balance — images are sharp on screen but not excessively large to embed in PowerPoint or Keynote.
Yes. The converter uses a full document rendering engine that respects Word's layout engine — tables with borders, merged cells, and shading render correctly; inline and floating images are positioned as they appear in Word; headers, footers, and page numbers are included in the output. Complex SmartArt diagrams convert to static images within the DOCX and will appear as embedded images in the JPG.
The rendering engine handles both. DOC (Word 97–2003 binary format) and DOCX (Word 2007+ XML format) are both supported. Older DOC files with embedded OLE objects (Excel charts, Visio diagrams) may render those objects as placeholder boxes if the OLE data cannot be decoded.
The online converter renders all pages. To extract a specific page, use the resulting JPG files from the numbered output and keep only the pages you need. For selective page extraction with custom naming and resolution settings, CoolUtils Total Doc Converter lets you specify page ranges in batch conversion rules.

Convert DOCX to JPG Online

Word documents are editable by anyone who opens them. Converting DOCX to JPG produces a locked image of each page — impossible to edit, copy-paste, or extract text from. Use it for certificates, contracts shared on social media, document previews in web apps, or any situation where you need a visual snapshot of a Word page.

What Is DOCX?

DOCX is Microsoft Word's Open XML format, the default for Word documents since Office 2007. It is a ZIP archive containing XML files that encode text, formatting, styles, images, headers, footers, and embedded objects. DOCX is the most widely used word processing format in business and academia, supported by Word, LibreOffice, Google Docs, and Apple Pages — but it remains an editable format subject to accidental or intentional modification.

What Is JPG?

JPG (JPEG) is the standard compressed image format, supported universally by every operating system, browser, social media platform, CMS, and image viewer. A JPG snapshot of a document page is non-editable and renders identically everywhere. It is the right format for sharing document pages on social media, embedding them in websites, using them as preview thumbnails, or displaying them as non-modifiable visual content.
