| Description | Microsoft Outlook Express-based DBX files harbor folders with letters. In turn, the letters are packed in mailboxes. Since files are assigned to specific folders, they are named and suffixed respectively, so files assigned to Inbox are named inbox.dbx; similarly, files assigned to the Draft mailbox are suffixed drafts.dbx. Because DBXs can be copied, you can back up all your letters. Microsoft Outlook Express is the simplest and therefore most preferred program in terms of editing or importing a DBX. Manual modification may lead to corruption and mess up the work of the client. |

DBX is Outlook Express's proprietary mail-store format — sealed inside a binary container that modern email clients and office software cannot open. Converting DBX to Doc extracts your emails into fully editable Word documents you can read, search, annotate, and share without Outlook Express. Drop your .dbx file above.
DBX is the mail-store format used by Outlook Express, Microsoft's bundled email client shipped with Windows 98 through Windows XP. Each .dbx file is a folder-level container holding multiple email messages in a proprietary binary format, including headers, body text, and attachments. Outlook Express was discontinued with Windows Vista, and no current email client reads DBX natively — making these archives effectively locked without a converter.
Doc is the Microsoft Word binary document format, understood by virtually every word processor in use today — Word, LibreOffice Writer, Google Docs, and WPS Office all open .doc files. Converting email messages to Doc gives you a readable, annotatable document where the message headers, body, and formatting are preserved and accessible to anyone, regardless of which email client they use.
