| Description | ODG (Open Document Graphic) file format is associated with OpenOffice Draw - an OpenOffice application developed by the Organization for the Advancement of Structured information (OASIS) and intended for creating vector graphic drawings. Since this software is part of the free and cross-platform OpenOffice software package, it is not unlikely that ODG will soon be used as a standard for exchanging ODG drawings between different programs. In order to share ODG files, you should install OpenOffice on your PC. |

| Description | May be the simplest file format, BMP was developed jointly by Microsoft and IBM. That is why it is widespread on Windows platform. This extension is characterized a raster graphic format which is recognized by many programs today. In comparison with other bitmap formats, JPEG and GIF, BMP keeps color data for each pixel in the image and doesn't compress images to decrease a file size. That is what makes it perfect file format for printable images. |

OpenDocument Graphics files are the native drawing format of LibreOffice Draw and Apache OpenOffice, but most Windows applications cannot open .odg directly. BMP is an uncompressed bitmap that every Windows application reads natively — from Paint to Word to legacy industrial tools. Converting your .odg file to BMP makes the drawing instantly usable across the entire Windows ecosystem. Drop your .odg file above.
ODG (OpenDocument Graphics) is the vector drawing format of the OpenDocument standard (ISO/IEC 26300), used natively by LibreOffice Draw and Apache OpenOffice Draw. ODG files store diagrams, flowcharts, and illustrations as resolution-independent vector objects with full layer and grouping support. Outside the OpenDocument ecosystem, ODG has very limited application support — Microsoft Office, Adobe tools, and most Windows apps cannot open .odg without a plugin.
BMP (Bitmap) is Microsoft's uncompressed raster image format, built into Windows since version 1.0. Every Windows application that handles images — Paint, Word, Excel, legacy scanners, kiosk software, and industrial vision systems — reads BMP without any plugin or library. BMP stores pixels directly without compression, so there is no quality loss and no decode step required before display or processing.
