EPS File

File extension .EPS
CategoryImage File
DescriptionEPS (Encapsulated PostScript) is an extension for files based on the PostScript language and intended for printers/image setters featuring image processors supporting PostScript. There are two types of EPS files: vector graphic files, which are supported by and can be edited in Adobe Illustrator, CorelDraw, etc., and EPS photo files, which can be edited in programs like PhotoShop. For easier viewing, EPS files contain bitmap images, because it would take too complicated vector instructions to draw an image.

CategoryImage File
DescriptionThe TIFF (Tagged Image File Format) is a widely-used file format for storing digital images, developed by Aldus Corporation (now owned by Adobe Systems). It is a versatile format that supports a wide range of color depths, resolutions, and image types, making it suitable for use in a variety of applications.

EPS to TIFF Converter — Frequently Asked Questions ▼

EPS (Encapsulated PostScript) is Adobe's print-oriented exchange format from 1992. It contains PostScript drawing commands and is universal in prepress workflows.
TIFF is the universal lossless raster format for archives, scientific imaging, and modern prepress. Photoshop, GIMP, and every image editor open TIFF natively, while EPS requires a PostScript interpreter.
The converter rasterises at 300 dpi by default, which is press-quality for most uses. For other resolutions, use Total Image Converter on Windows.
Transparent regions of the EPS are preserved through an alpha channel inside the TIFF, so the result composites cleanly over any background.
By default the converter uses LZW compression — lossless and well-supported. For uncompressed TIFF or ZIP compression, use Total Image Converter on the desktop.
The online converter accepts EPS files up to 50 MB. For larger or batched files, use Total Image Converter on Windows.
Uploaded files are deleted automatically once you download the TIFF. They are not stored or shared. Convert archival or sensitive material locally with Total Image Converter.

Convert EPS to TIFF — PostScript to Lossless Archival Raster

EPS is the print exchange format, but archives, photo editors, and modern prepress workflows often prefer TIFF. Converting EPS to TIFF produces a lossless high-resolution raster ready for Photoshop, archival storage, or any pipeline that expects pixels rather than PostScript. Drop your .eps file above.
